New From MSR - MicroRocket Backpacking Stove

The PocketRocket has long been MSR's little stove that could.  One of the original small canister stoves, it set the bar on what a small, lightweight backpacking stove should be.  The Pocket Rocket has now been replaced as MSR's lightest stove by the new MicroRocket stove.  As it's name suggests the MicroRocket is small and powerful.  Weighing in at just 2.6 oz. (packed weight) the MicroRocket can boil a liter of water in just 3.5 minutes.  Similar to the PocketRocket the Micro can maintain a strong wind-resistant flame with the built in WindClip.  The pot supports have been boosted and it comes with a hand-held Piezo igniter specifically designed to be used with the MicroRocket.  It's burn time on a 8 oz. fuel canister is 60 minutes.

The extra-stout folding pot supports hold a variety of pot sizes.  When folded down the MicroRocket fits into an MSR insulated Mug.

Look for the MSR MicroRocket January 2012 retailing at $59.95
