Burley D'Lite Jogger Kit Review

Burley D'Lite Jogger KitIt's no secret that we've become big fans of the Burley D'Lite here at GearGenius.com.  It's an amazing bike trailer, pulls like a champ and is built super well.  Normally that is all that would matter to me.  I consider myself a cyclist and don't do much running.  This summer, however, has been a bit different.  I was talked into running a half marathon by an old friend.  I know, no big deal for you long distance folks out there.  But for a guy that normally gets his cardio on by sitting on a bike seat, it's been an interesting transition.  That being said I've spent a bit more time pounding the pavement than I have pounding the pedals, but I still wanted to bring along a certain little one year old that loves his bike trailer.  What was I to do?

That's where the jogger attachment for the Burley D'lite comes in.  Once it's assembled, in just a few short moments I can pull off the bike attachment and attach the jogger attachment.  Assembly out of the box is super easy.  Connect the two arms with a light weight cross member and clamp it all shut with a quick release.  The jogger comes with a 16" alloy wheel that also attaches with a quick release and caliper brakes with a brake lever that attaches easily to the handlebar.

Because of all the quick releases the jogger kit packs down very small, easily fitting into car trunks and corners of garages.  It is very light weight adding very little to the overall weight of the trailer.

The trailer pushes just like it pulls on the bike, very smooth.  It's a very quiet and comfy ride for anyone strapped inside.  Most of the weight of the trailer sits on it's rear wheels so steering the jogger is easily done just by putting a little extra weight on the handlebars and pivoting the front like you would do with just about every other jogger on the market.

The Burley D'Lite's jogger attachment is perfect for the person that either has a D'Lite and wants to jog or for someone looking to buy a set up that would allow them to do more than just bike or just jog.  Obviously there are better jogging strollers on the market, but there's none better when it comes to a biking and jogging combo child carrier/trailer.

The Double Jogger Kit fits the D'Lite (2004-current model) and the Encore (2005-current model)

Pros:
-Easy to push
-Not too expensive (once you have the trailer that is)
-Easy to attach
-Smooth Ride

Cons:
-Two child trailer + jogger kit = BIG
-Takes up a bit of space in your garage or on your patio
