Burley D'Lite Stroller Kit Review

There's no doubt that Burley makes an amazing bike trailer. I'd go as far as saying that I think the Burley D'Lite is the nicest trailer currently on the market. It has too much going for it to say otherwise.

One of the best features of the Burley D'Lite is it's ability to adapt to your needs. Most people that would spend the money for a bike trailer this nice are probably into other activities besides cycling. Say, maybe jogging, or maybe they just want a way to push the kids around at the local farmers market.

Burley has taken all of this into consideration and offers a wide variety of accessories for their trailers. Being a fan of the D'Lite, I was more interested in the accessories available for it.

The 2-Wheel Stroller Kit is perfect option to convert your D'Lite into one of the most functional and smooth rolling strollers you've ever used. The 2-Wheel Stroller Kit comes in a nice nylon bag that can easily be stowed in the cargo space of the trailer. All you need to do is remove the arm that connects the trailer to the bike and slip in the two stroller wheels. Attach the cotter pin for safety and you're ready to roll.

Once attached you'll be amazed at how smooth it is. The smoothness is due to the large wheels on the trailer and the caster style wheel of the stroller kit. You can turn on a dime and cracks in the sidewalk are barely noticeable. It also comes with a strap you can attach to the handlebar and your wrist in case things get a little crazy and you need to reign things back in.

Even though I attached the 2-Wheel Stroller Kit to the D'Lite, the kit fits all child trailers from Burley except for the Bee, Honey Bee and Cub.

Pros:

  • Easy to attach
  • Includes storage/carry bag
  • Does a fantastic job of stirring your Burley trailer

Cons:

  • not great for higher speed walking or running (but they make a jogger attachment for that)
  • only available on Burley trailers
