Line Skis 2012-13 Preview

We just got our hands on Line Skis' 2012-2013 catalog and thought we'd share the wealth.  Next year's line up looks awesome, with new graphics on all the skis, some re-designed skis, a couple of new ski models, and new lengths in other models.  Here's some highlights from the new line-up as well as some photos of the new boards.

Mr. Pollard's Opus - Eric is back with his signature powder ski.  Not many changes with the Opus.  Since it was just completely redesigned for this (2011/12) season it gets a graphic update and a new size.  For next season the opus will be available in a 192cm.  This longer length is going to give the Opus a lot more big mountain credibility.  Genius Feature - New 192cm size.

Sir Francis Bacon - The Bacon returns with it's same great design but with an awesome new graphic.  The Bacon is still an excellent choice for those who are looking for a wider freestyle ski that does it all.  From park to powder, this ski has very little limits.  Genius Feature - New graphic.

Blend - The freestyler's quiver of one ski.  The Blend is a great option for the skier who spends a lot of time on the front side of the mountain and in the park, but wants a slightly wider ski when venturing into the softer snow.  The Blend is redesigned for 2012-13 with a new profile.  Line has added early rise to the tip and tail of the ski.  The Blend has always been a great ski and the added rocker is only going to make it better.  Genius Feature - ROCKER!

Chronic - Line's hard charging park ski, the park gets a bit of a face lift.  New graphics accompany the Chronic's new profile by adding early rise to the tip and tail.  This new rocker should add a fun dimension to an already epic ski. Genius Feature - ROCKER!

Afterbang - No real charge here other than a new graphics and an added 172cm to the sizing.
Genius feature - New 172cm size.

Traveling Circus - Line adds another park ski to their line up with the Traveling Circus.  The Traveling Circus crew has been making fun videos for a couple of years now and apparently people have taken note.  With over 1 million video views and 25,000 facebook fans, Line decided to reward them with their own ski.  A symmetrical twin with early rise tip and tail the Traveling Circus is perfect for a true jibber.  Genius Feature - Symmetrical twin with early rise.

Influence 115 - The hidden gem in Line's line up, the Influence was designed for the hard charging big mountain powder skier.  This is the perfect option for anyone whoever thought that the Mr. Pollard's Opus or Sir Francis Bacon were too soft.  The Influence returns with a redesigned profile of early rise in the tip and tail.  It had some rocker in the tip last year but this year you'll find it in the tail as well.  Add to that a new carbon ollie band and this ski is going to surprise a lot of people next year.  Genius Feature - Early rise in the tip and tail and metal matrix to stiffen things up.

Prophet 85 - New to the line up is the Prophet 85.  The Prophet 85 is a great front side ski for the skier who likes to ski the entire mountain and likes the look of a turned up tail.  118mm at the tip and 85mm at the waist the Prophet 85 is a very capable all-mountain ski.  Genius Feature - great price point ski for the all-mountain skier.

Pandora - No big changes with the Pandora other than a great looking graphic.  When you have one of the best fat, rockered women's skis on the market, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.  Genius Feature - Awesome graphic on an already awesome ski.

Soulmate - Line introduces the Soulmate to this year's women's ski line up.  The Soulmate is a mid fat ski with early rise at the tip and tail.  Think Blend for women.  A great option for the female freestyle skier that wants to ski it all.  A welcome addition as it fills a hole in the line.  Genius Feature - New Model with early rise tip and tail.

Celebrity 85 - Joining the Prophet 85 is the Celebrity 85 giving another option to all mountain female skiers who like good looking twin tips.  Consider this an all mountain ski for the intermediate to advanced skier with a turned up tail.  Genius Feature - Great looking all mountain ski.

Sir Francis Bacon Shorty - Every groms dream ski.  The Bacon Shorty is just a mini version of the adult ski that it shadows.  New this season is a 165cm length option.  This 165cm will be great for young rippers that are bean pole thin and didn't have the weight under their feet to jump up to adult skis. If you think you want a pair of these, get to your shop or order online early, they will and always have, sold out early.  Genius Feature - New 165cm size.

Like we mentioned above this is just a highlight of the line up.  Check out photos of all the new models and we'll get the buyer's guide updated as we test out some of these new models.  In the mean time, go check out Line's current offering of skis at LineSkis.com.
