Quiver of One - DC Tone

DC Tone SnowboardFinding one board to conquer it all is tough. Sure it would be nice if we could just have a quiver of boards, but lets be honest, that's not going to happen. So what do you do? Is it possible to find a board that's good in pow, decent on hard pack, fun in the park and somewhat affordable?

It sure is. The 'Quiver of One' series is dedicated to boards that shred the entire mountain. No need to sacrifice performance in the park or in pow, these boards perform in all conditions.

DC Tone

Being relatively new to the snowboard production scene hasn't scared DC Shoes from making a number of killer snowboards. The DC Tone is no exception, being marketed as the go-to, all-mountain board in their lineup.

Can a centered stance still be all-mountain?

You bet, especially with the mellow rocker providing ample float in deep snow. Besides, nothing rides switch quite as nice as a centered, freestyle inspired board. A flat profile between the bindings gives you tons of stability at speed and through powder plus the ability to lay a few trenches on those groomer days if that's all you've got.

Pow is awesome, but what about park days?

Why worry, their athletes list include Torstein Horgmo and Aaron Biittner, they must be doing something right. The Tone is built using their camber core technology; increasing board thickness under your feet for rigidity, then increasing it again outside the bindings to maximize pop and stability on big landings. The Structurn Base focuses on the less is more theory; less contact on snow cuts down resistance (think golf ball) making for a very fast riding board.

These are a few reasons why we are constantly turning to the DC Tone; it’ll always happily take what you are dishing out. Also, at $400 you have some leftover cash to help in buying that new pair of boots or jacket you probably need.
