Quiver of One - K2 Turbo Dream

K2 Turbo DreamFinding one board to conquer it all is tough.  Sure it would be nice if we could just have a quiver of boards, but lets be honest, that's not going to happen.  So what do you do?  Is it possible to find a board that's good in pow, decent on hard pack, fun in the park and somewhat affordable?

It sure is.  The 'Quiver of One' series is dedicated to boards that shred the entire mountain.  No need to sacrifice performance in the park or in pow, these boards perform in all conditions.

K2 Turbo Dream

K2 Snowboards introduced the Turbo Dream a couple of seasons ago and ever since then it's been one of our favorite boards here at GearGenius.com.  We love that it's a go to board no matter the condition.  It's the perfect board to throw in the car when you have no idea what the conditions are or will be.

Here's why we like the Turbo Dream:

3/4" Set Back - The K2 Turbo Dream has a stance that's setback 3/4".  This set back gives it a freeride feel.  It charges on firmer snow and floats in powder.

All Terrain Rocker - Rocker where you need it, flat where you don't.  K2's All Terrain Rocker starts just outside of the bindings.  By not having any rocker under foot and in between your feet you get outstanding edge control and response.  The rocker on the outside of the bindings makes the board float in softer snow and helps reduce catching an edge on firmer snow.  It gives the Turbo Dream a very playful feel on groomers and in the park.  If you do spend a lot of time in the park, play around with your stance for a more 'twin' feel.  It has a twin sidecut so it can hold it's own jibbing in the park and riding switch.

Harshmellow - Harshmellow is K2's proprietary vibration dampening system.  It's positioned right under your bindings so your feet feel like you're riding on a cloud of marshmallows.

These are just three of the many reasons why we're big fans of the K2 Turbo Dream.  It's a board we have in our own quiver and one we recommend to just about everyone.  It has a list of high performance features as long as your arm but still won't break the bank at $479.99.  Check out a K2 Turbo Dream at our local shop or at some of these on-line shops listed below.

Attention riders with larger feet (10-10.5+) - Depending on what boots you're using and what length of board you ride, you might what to check out the Turbo Dream Wide.
