Torstein Horgmo Nails Triple Cork

Torstein Horgmo landed the first ever triple cork at the Winter X Games in Aspen, Colorado.  Not only was he the first to land the triple he was also the first to attempt a triple cork in competition.  Rumors had been swirling around the snowboard community since last summer when a video make it's way on to youtube of him landing the trick.  There was no better opportunity to officially put the trick on display than at Winter X Games.  It wasn't until his third and final attempt that Torstein stuck the trick catapulting him into first place.

What made it even better?  He did it all when some broken ribs that he suffered from an earlier jump.  It's amazing what a couple of TV cameras, a large crowd, and the chance for X Games gold can do to the confidence of a 21 year old.  Here's a video of Torstein landing the triple on his final attempt.
