Ahnu Women's Moonstone Sandal Review

Ahnu Moonstone SandalHello my name is Moonstone and I like long walks on the beach, but I'm not afraid of turning that walk into a hike. I'm all about water, sand and unexpected terrain, but unlike other sandals of my type I'm lightweight and super cute.

It's easy to see why The Moonstone has become my preferred beach shoe. The beaches in my area range from soft deep sand to rocky uneven ground. They performed great in and out of the water, on the sand and for light hiking. The mesh lining had them drying out quicker that I thought they would. I hate when sandal straps stay wet for what seems like forever.

The moonstone is adjustable where it counts. Around the ankle by buckle and also around the heel and front area by a hook and loop velcro system. I used the adjustable features, as it helped secure my foot within the sandal, this helped prevent my foot from sloshing around the sandal while wet.

I found The Moonstone unique in that there is nothing between the toes. Which can be bothersome to many, and the fact that they weigh in at a whopping six ounces makes them significantly lighter than other outdoor sandals I've tried.

The main thing I love about Ahnu footwear is their attention to the sole of the shoe. The moonstone, like all their footwear, puts the foot into neutral positioning. The sole is soft, but provides arch support right where I need it. The straps are lined with a soft mesh preventing any rubbing around the ankles or feet and the traction is enough to keep from slipping on wet surfaces.

I can tell I'll get a lot of use out this shoe. I can't wait to take them on more adventures. They'd be perfect for river rafting. I love the purple color, they also come in black and grey.
