BOS Footwear: Women's Beige Weave Review

BOS footwear review

This is my newest summer shoe, but already I've worn them quite a bit. When I want the breathability of a sandal but the comfort of a shoe the BOS is where my feet find themselves.

I went with the light Beige color because I believe it delivers a summery beach feel to it, while my husband has been sporting the black and white weave, a grey-like color which, in my opinion, lends itself to a more masculine tone. This is a shoe that will get noticed because they are unique. Being made in Bulgaria, they are not just another summer flat. The texture, comfort and culture of the shoe will make people want to stop and ask, "Can I touch your shoes?"

The features I enjoy most are: The comfortable insole, the woven mesh material, and the durable sole.

The insole is not something you'd expect to find in this otherwise relaxed beach vibe kind of shoe. The insole provides arch support and just enough padding. I have done plenty of walking in these shoes with no aching feet or blisters. Also, I'm not sure if it's the insole or the breathable mesh but I haven't had any foot odor issues while wearing these shoes.

Another element I loved was the outer mesh weave. The mesh looking material is a mixture of cotton and soft plastic woven together to provide optimum comfort and breathability. I suppose the translation of the term, BOS, puts it best as its meaning is barefoot. When I first looked at the shoe I was afraid it wouldn't be comfortable because the material almost has a straw-like look to it. I was pleasantly surprised as I found the woven blend to be comfortable, airy and movable. Plus, it's not a material that is bothered by sand, water or a lot of walking. They're a hardy shoe meant for lots of outdoor play.

The last feature I'll mention quickly is the durable long lasting sole. The rubber sole is thick, has great traction and offers more support than the average summer flat. You don't have to baby this shoe in any way especially because you can easily wash them up. Check out their website for washing methods.

The two styles for ladies are the weave and the wedge. I have the weave and had to go one size down as they cater more to a normal to wide foot. If you have narrow feet the wedge may better accommodate you.

This company got their start with kickstarter and holds an uncommon story of entrepreneurship and a strong desire to bring culturally rich products to the U.S. To find out more about BOS Footwear including their styles, colors and sizing chart visit their website at bosfootwear.com.
